🎶 What’s New in AI Music This Week?
Generative AI Could hit Musicians by at least £8bn over the next decade (more)
A recent study by the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC) highlights the significant financial risks that generative AI poses to music creators. The report estimates that by 2028, musicians could face a 24% decline in revenues, amounting to a cumulative loss of £8 billion over five years. This downturn is attributed to AI-generated music supplanting human-created works, often without proper compensation to original artists. In contrast, revenues for generative AI providers in the music and audiovisual sectors are projected to surge to £7.45 billion by 2028, up from £248 million currently. CISAC President and ABBA co-founder Björn Ulvaeus emphasizes the urgency for regulatory measures to safeguard creators' rights and ensure fair remuneration in the evolving AI landscape. He advocates for a balanced approach that embraces technological advancements while upholding the integrity and economic viability of artistic professions.
AI Music revenues expected to rise 3600% by 2028 (more)
The AI music and audiovisual content market is set to expand dramatically, with projections indicating growth from £2.6 billion today to £55 billion by 2028. Generative AI providers anticipate significant revenue increases: music revenues are expected to surge from £0.09 billion in 2023 to £3.4 billion, while audiovisual content revenues will rise from £0.17 billion to £4.3 billion in the same period.

Everyone´s talking about Suno´s new v4 model (more)
Suno has unveiled its latest AI music generation platform, Suno v4, marking a significant advancement in AI-driven music creation. This upgrade offers enhanced audio clarity, improved lyrical content, and more dynamic song structures, aiming to attract both casual users and professional musicians. A standout feature of Suno v4 is "Personas," which allows users to create and save unique virtual singers with distinct vocal styles, enabling consistent use across multiple tracks. Additionally, the "Remaster" tool lets users enhance previously created songs to align with v4's superior audio quality.
The platform also introduces "ReMi," an AI-powered lyric assistant designed to boost creativity by generating unconventional and imaginative lyrics. Furthermore, the "Covers" feature, now out of beta, enables users to reinterpret songs across various genres, offering fresh perspectives on existing compositions.
Suno v4's improvements in vocal authenticity and user-friendly tools position it as a versatile resource for music enthusiasts and professionals seeking to integrate AI into their creative processes. However, the platform's future remains uncertain due to ongoing legal challenges from major music labels concerning copyright infringement.
